Alexander Davidson Thomas Jefferson Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all whom these presents shall come greeting: Know ye that in consideration of the ancient composition of Two pounds Sterling paid by Alexander Davidson into the Treasury of this Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said Alexander Davidson a certain tract or parcel of land containing four hundred acres by survey bearing date the third day of March one Thousand Seven hundred and seventy three laying and being in the County of Bedford on north branches of wreck Island Creek and bounded as followeth towit. Beginning at Manns Corner pointers on Phelps's Line thence along Manns lines North forty three degrees West sixty two poles to his corner black oak North eighty five degrees West fifty two poles to his Corner small red oak North seventy degrees West one hundred poles to his Corner pointers South fifty degrees West forty poles to his and Martins Corner Shrub white oak; thence along Martins Lines North ten degrees East forty six poles to his Corner shrub white oak North forty eight degrees East thirty two poles to his corner black Jack North ten degrees East thirty six poles to his Corner Pointers North thirty degrees East thirty four poles to pointers Hence off East one hundred poles to pointers north fifty three degrees East thirty poles to pointers on ?Merritt's? line thence along his lines South forty degrees East fourteen poles to his Corner double red oak at a path South sixty three degrees East forty two poles to his Corner double red oak North sixty eight degrees East forty two poles to his Corner white Oak South eighty five degrees East twenty two poles to his corner pine north seventy degrees East fifty poles to his Corner shrub white oak on ?Hunters? old line thence along the old lines South eighteen degrees west three hundred and four poles to corner shrub white oak South fifty five degrees East ten poles to Phelp's corner pointers thence along Phelp's Line South twenty eight degrees west ten poles to the first station with its ?Appurtenances: to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land; with its Appurtenances: to the said Alexander Davidson and his Heirs Forever.
