Thomas Jefferson Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all whom these presents shall come greeting: Know ye that in consideration of the ancient composition of Two pounds Sterling paid by Alexander Davidson into the Treasury of this Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said Alexander Davidson a certain tract or parcel of land containing four hundred acres by survey bearing date the third day of March one Thousand Seven hundred and seventy three laying and being in the County of Bedford on north branches of wreck Island Creek and bounded as followeth towit.
